Graduating from the University of Queensland Medical School, Dr Tran commenced her opthalmology training in the UK with exposure to glaucoma, oculoplastics and strabismus. Dr Tran then returned to Australia, completing her ophthalmology training in Queensland and undertaking a general ophthalmology fellowship at the Queensland Eye Institute followed by a glaucoma fellowship at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne. She also completed a Masters of Public Health, majoring in epidemiology. Dr Tu Tran is a consultant ophthalmologist at RVEEH Glaucoma Unit and Western Health. Her clinical interest is in glaucoma, ocular imaging techniques, glaucoma laser procedures and glaucoma surgery including trabeculectomy and drainage devices. She is actively involved in teaching registrars and fellows and is a RANZCO examiner for ophthalmic basic competencies exam. She is also on the expert advisory panel for Glaucoma Australia.
