Associate Professor Troy R.J. Gianduzzo, MBBS FRACS (Urol) commenced his urology practice at the Wesley Hospital in 2007. He specialises in prostate and kidney cancer and is an established robotic and laparoscopic surgeon with experience of around 1000 minimally invasive procedures. He is the current national secretary of the Australia and New Zealand Association of Urological Surgeons (ANZAUS) and serves on a number of Wesley Hospital committees, including the medical advisory committee, the credentialing subcommittee, the operating theatre advisory committee, and is the current chair of the urology craft group.
A/Prof Gianduzzo completed his urology training in Australia in 2003 and undertook a further 3 1/2 years of advanced fellowship training in the UK and the USA. He was trained by leading international experts including Professor Christopher Eden (UK) and Professor Inderbir Gill (USA). Professor Eden is one of Europe's pioneering laparoscopic (keyhole) urological surgeons, while Professor Gill is internationally acknowledged as one of the world's leading laparoscopic and robotic surgeons. A/Prof Gianduzzo was personally invited by Professor Gill to undertake a fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, which is ranked as one of the top 2 urology departments in the United States.
Associate Professor Gianduzzo is the recipient of a number of national and international prizes for research. He has published and presented nationally and internationally, and has contributed to the authorship of urological texts. He is a reviewer for national and international journals, and has been invited as faculty at international meetings such as the World Congress of Endourology and SWL.
