Tharanga grew up in Canberra but completed her Medical degree at the University of New South Wales, graduating with Honours in 2004. After living in Sydney for 20 years, and working as a GP for almost 10 years, Tharanga moved to Perth with her family in January 2019.
With over 15 years of post-graduate experience, Tharanga has worked extensively with medical and surgical teams in hospitals including 3 years in Critical Care and the Royal Flying Doctor Service. She has also spent the last 8 years working in Skin Cancer Medicine alongside her General Practice work.
Tharanga loves being a GP as she enjoys building long-term, trusted relationships with patients in all different stages of life. She is passionate about practicing high quality medicine and developing skills in diagnostic accuracy. Tharanga’s diverse experience makes her a very knowledgeable GP who can provide holistic care in management and treatment of patients as well as in preventative health care.
