Dr Paton studied Medicine at the University of Sydney and graduated in 1979 with Honours. She worked for three years at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney and then overseas in Jamaica and the UK. During this time she gained her Diploma in Anaesthetics, experience in Obstetrics and Paediatrics, and attained Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in UK (MRCGP).
Returning to Australia, Dr Paton worked in general practice in the country before joining the practice of Drs L’Estrange & Hathaway in Naremburn in 1990. In 2001, Dr Paton & Dr Hathaway amalgamated their practice with those of Drs Robertson & Thomas in Northbridge.
She treats patients of all ages with both acute and chronic health care needs, and her knowledge of diving medicine is updated regularly through her involvement and membership of the South Pacific Underwater Medicine Society
Her personal interests include kayaking, bush walking, bike riding, sailing, and scuba diving.
