I studied at Adelaide University and obtained my MBBS there.
My first job was at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, then I gained a wider experience working in India before settling in Canberra where a completely different set of medical conditions presented themselves.
I have been a GP for 27 years.
I consider it takes time to connect to a patient, especially if the individual is suffering anxiety or depression. For these conditions, medication is only one leg of a four legged treatment stool and is not always required-then it becomes a three legged treatment stool- watching the breathing, putting harmony into the lifestyle and restoring balance between the thinking mind and the observer of those thoughts. These two problems are amongst the most common causes of ill health in modern times. Therefore I allow longer appointment times.
