Susan Humphreys graduated with a degree in Medicine from University of Dundee in 1995 and followed on to become a Specialist in Anaesthesia in 2008 in Northern Ireland. She then moved to Australia and completed fellowships in Paediatric Intensive Care and Paediatric Cardiac Anaesthesia at the Mater Children’s Hospital, Brisbane and Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne and was admitted to fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2011.

Susan is a member of the ASA (Australian Society of Anaesthetists), ANZCA (Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists) and SPANZA (Society of Paediatric Anaesthetists New Zealand and Australia) and has been a member of Narcosia Anaesthesia Group since 2011.

Currently Susan provides private anaesthesia services for both adults and children though out Brisbane and holds a part time appointment as a Senior Anaesthetist at Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital.

Her academic interests include teaching and mentoring registrars in paediatric anaesthesia and maintains an active role as the lead paediatric anaesthetist in the Paediatric Critical Care Research Group, Brisbane.

Outside of hospital life, Susan will be found at triathlon events supporting her very active family, swimming or playing hockey.
