Suja completed her schooling in Dubai and her undergraduate medical training and her postgraduate paediatric training in India and worked there for a few years before moving with her family to Australia in 2004. She completed her general paediatric training at various centres in South Australia including the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre and The Lyell McEwin Health Service and was admitted to the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (Paediatrics) in 2012. Suja worked as a Consultant Paediatrician at Flinders Medical Centre and a Lecturer in Paediatrics at Flinders University in the School of Medicine from 2013-2016. She enjoys teaching and has devoted much of her time to training medical students and junior doctors.
Suja is interested in all aspects of paediatric medicine and has a special interest in endocrinology and obesity as well as developmental and behavioural issues. She understands that the care of the child with complex medical, behavioural and mental health issues can be challenging but is committed to supporting her patients (and their families) throughout their growing years and ensuring that the children thrive and reach their full potential. Suja is a caring and empathetic paediatrician, and children and families under her care are appreciative of her positive and holistic approach, and kind and cheerful manner.
