Dr Finlay came to Cairns in 1992 with his family on a working holiday after five years of General Practice in the north-east of England. The family liked it so much that, after returning to the UK the following year, they emigrated in 1995 to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle Far North Queensland is famous for. Dr Finlay’s children have embraced their interest in music and the tropical heat and humidity have rekindled his partner’s passion for writing. Dr Finlay joined the surgery in 2008, working part time in the surgery whilst spending the remainder of his time attending to the Service’s nursing home patients.
