Specialist fields and passions: A passionate specialist in the fields of Medical & Surgical Retina, including macular degeneration, diabetes, vitreo macular interface disorders and retinal detachment, Stewart is also a Senior lecturer in ophthalmology at Flinders University. Stewart consults at FMC and is the lead Opthalmologist for Paediatric Retina in South Australia. Previously: Stewart trained at Oxford and Nottingham in the UK and in Sydney here in Australia. Helping those in need: Stewart regularly visits Darwin, Alice Springs as well as the indigenous communities of the Kakarrara Wilurarra Health Alliance at Yalata, Oak Valley and Tjuntjuntjara. Stewart is a member of Australian Society of Ophthalmologists IRIS (Indigenous and Remote Eye Health Service) program. This program is to improve eye health services to rural and remote parts of Australia. The other side to Stewart: Stewart is married with one child and enjoys triathlons and snow skiing.
