I have been a GP in Castle Hill for over 40 years and enjoy looking after my patients.  It is a privilege and a fulfilling experience to share with them and their families in the ups and downs of their lives over several generations – sometimes 4 generations of the same family at the one time! I believe that, with an understanding of their illness, people are better able to cope with and manage it – resulting in an improved outcome.  So I provide patient education materials and often help the internet savvy generation navigate Dr Google in a more effective way. With many years in practice, I have dealt with so much illness and am passionate about disease prevention.  I encourage and counsel my patients towards a healthy yet enjoyable life – yes, this is actually possible and is particularly important in preventing heart disease, diabetes and many types of cancer. Educating young doctors is another of my interests.  For 13 years I was the NSW Exam Panel Chair for the RACGP (Royal Australian College of General Practitioners) – I ran the College exam for GP qualification.  I am now a QA Examiner who trains examiners as well as GP registrars to qualify for the specialty of general practice.  Previously, I was a GP educator for the National Asthma Council and participated in Community Asthma Education in schools. In my spare time, I enjoy being with friends and family, listening to music, travelling and photography and trying to practise the lifestyle that I preach!.
