He attended the University of NSW Medical School, and whilst there, took a year off from his studies to complete a Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSci) – this involved spending a year in Burma taking part in research on the effects of malnutrition in the villages around Rangoon.

After graduating 1990 he did his hospital training at Royal North Shore Hospital, a Diploma of Paediatrics at Sydney Children’s Hospital and 2 years of community paediatrics out of Hornsby Hospital. Whilst completing his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of GPs he practiced in Armidale, Dee Why, and Revesby.

Steve has been a practicing GP in the Northern Beaches/ Mosman/Cremorne area for many years and has a special interest in children’s health, psychological health, men’s health and minor surgery. He has also been involved with the Australian Primary Care Collaboration and the introduction of the Electronic Health Record, an initiative to improve patient involvement in their own health care. Indeed, General Practice Cremorne is a pilot practice for the E-health record.

Steve has admitting and visiting rights at both Mosman and Castlecrag Private Hospitals.
