Dr Stephen Shipton completed his undergraduate medical studies at Stellenbosch University, South Africa and his post graduate paediatric and paediatric cardiology training in Cape Town, South Africa and the United Kingdom. While his Interventional Congenital Cardiology fellowship was spent in Glasgow.
Dr Shipton was a consultant paediatric cardiologist at Red Cross Children`s Hospital in Cape Town from 2001 – 2007. He then worked at Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi from 2007- 2010 as a consultant paediatric cardiologist and was also the lead interventionist during this time. Currently Dr Shipton has a public hospital position as a Paediatric Cardiologist at Princess Margaret Children`s Hospital in Perth and privately consults at CVS in Karrinyup and Nedlands.
His cardiology interests include; echocardiography in congenital heart disease as well as, percutaneous and hybrid interventional procedures in children, adolescents and adults with congenital heart disease.
Dr Shipton has minimal appointment wait times for his private consult clinics and personally conducts the echocardiography in his private rooms in order to ensure the diagnostic accuracy and medical management of congenital heart disease is optimized.
