Dr Stephen Bruce obtained his medical degree from the University of Queensland, graduating with first class honours in 1988.

He completed his Anaesthetic Fellowship in 1998 after training in Brisbane and the United Kingdom. He was awarded the Cecil Gray Medal for the final Fellowship examination.

Dr Bruce worked as a Staff Anaesthetist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital for 4 years before joining the Narcosia Anaesthetic Practice in late 2001.

His areas of interest include anaesthesia for Upper Abdominal and Obesity, Plastic and Gynaecologic Surgery. He is also involved in Medical Student and Anaesthetic Trainee teaching as a Visiting Medical Officer at the PA Hospital.

Dr Bruce has been a member of the Queensland Anaesthetic Regional Committee and is often involved in organising Queensland and National Scientific Meetings for both the College of Anaesthetists and Society of Anaesthetists.

When not at work, Stephen enjoys admiring mid century furniture, annoying his teenage children and planning his next bushwalking trip.
