Dr Dan is an Australian, trained Orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in all shoulder surgery. His comprehensive shoulder care includes arthroscopic (key-hole) shoulder reconstructions, rotator cuff repair and shoulder replacement surgery. He has a research interest in evolving techniques in shoulder arthroplasty surgery and arthroscopic techniques. New innovations in shoulder arthroplasty which Dr Dan has integrated into his surgery include computer planning and virtual surgery. Future patients will be eligible to participate in an international study of surgical outcomes which is done in collaboration with the Harvard Shoulder Service.

Having completed a number of shoulder subspecialty fellowships, being actively involved in clinical research and performing a large volume of cases annually, Dr Dan is well positioned to become a leading shoulder surgeon.

Having completed his advanced orthopaedic surgery training in conjunction with the Australian Orthopaedic Association he was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Sports injury and shoulder care has been experienced at the elite level as Dr Dan worked on the Sydney Roosters medical team for a decade. Published interests are in the areas of sports injuries and shoulder surgery.

Dr Dan was the Clinical Sports Fellow at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. Subsequently He was a travelling fellow in the USA. His postgraduate fellowship experience includes the prestigious Harvard Medical School, Boston USA. Dr. Dan worked with leading authorities in the field of shoulder surgery at the Harvard Shoulder Service, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston USA. Whilst abroad, Dr Dan also spent time furthering his shoulder Arthroplasty techniques at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester USA.

Internationally, Dr Dan is a current member of the Harvard Alumni Codman Shoulder Society. This group based in the USA is dedicated to researching and furthering shoulder surgery to achieve the best possible outcome. This relationship allows Dr Dan to be aware of the latest techniques and research offered within leading US based Hospitals. Collaboration with these US institutions allows Dr Dan’s patients to benefit.

He is a fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and member of the Australian Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 2003. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Orthopaedic Surgery.
