Simon has worked as a doctor in the Illawarra for 35 years. He has broad experience across many fields of medicine having been an emergency department Medical Director and a hospital based multi-skilled medical officer as well as a general practitioner. He was the founding medical officer for the Illawarra Steelers and for many years was the medical writer for Tracks magazine and FHM. He has particular interests in complex medical diagnosis, medical education, Aboriginal health, emergency medicine, dermatology, and sports, travel and environmental medicine. When not working he likes to surf and to travel in support of remote expeditions.
