Dr Yousaf qualified from University of Leicester, England in the United Kingdom in 2005. She went on to complete two years of internship within the area and moved back to her home town of Birmingham in 2007 to pursue a career within her chosen field of General Practice.
The love for General Practice had arisen early as the pivotal role of GPs within the lives of patients became evident. Dr Yousaf understood the impact of family, social and lifestyle factors on health and well-being and that only within the breadth of General Practice could she be involved to this extent and be able to positively benefit the lives of her patients.
Over the course of the next 5 years, she undertook training within General Practice gaining experience through a variety of specialities including Paediatrics, Diabetes and Endocrine, Haematology and Oncology, Accident and Emergency, Psychiatry including in depth core training within Medicine and Surgery.
Dr Yousaf gained her qualification through the new MRCGP training scheme in 2012, whereon she went to work within the communities she had trained in having gained good patient and doctor relationships. She has used her bilingual abilities to good use and can communicate in Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi effectively to improve overall health.
Pursuing her love of travelling and adventure took her to Queensland in 2016 where she continued to provide patient care to a small retirement community and worked as the local GP.
Areas of Interest: Paediatrics, Women’s Health, Sexual Health, including contraception. Implanon insertion.
Personal Interests: Outside of work time is taken up by mummy duties as Dr Yousaf is a doting mother to two young children. She enjoys baking, cooking and sleep if there is some time left over!
