Dr Sanka Amadoru is a geriatrician at Austin Health in the north-east of Melbourne, where he has helped develop the Residential In-Reach service. He is active with Austin Health’s Medical and Cognitive Research Unit and The University of Melbourne’s Florey Institute ADNet clinical trials arm, working towards a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease.
He has expertise in all areas of geriatric medicine, with particular interests in cognitive health, dementia, delirium, and older persons’ mental health. Sanka is involved with training junior doctors and medical students, clinical research, and healthcare in the developing world. Sanka is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine, the Australian Medical Association, and the Australia/Sri Lanka Medical Aid Team. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
