Dr Rula Ali completed her medical degree at Auckland University, New Zealand. Her studies included a secondment to Oxford University where she did general surgery and completed her medical research in cancer.
On her return to Auckland, Rula worked in emergency medicine, ENT, vascular and trauma surgery and become a member of the Australasian College of Surgeons. Rula then started her training in Urology in New Zealand and Australia as well as publishing research on bladder tumours, kidney stones and kidney cancer.
Rula completed General Practice training in Australia and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practice. Rula has a special interest in dermatology and has done further training in identifying and managing skin cancer. She obtained Professional Certificate in Dermoscopy and is undertaking additional studies towards a Professional Diploma in Skin Cancer Medicine. Rula provides thorough skin checks and can perform skin lesion removals. Rula is also trained in providing injectable anti-wrinkle treatment.
Rula is also a senior medical educator and a supervisor for training GPs. She has a certificate in Medical Education and Medical Leadership from Dundee University.
Alongside her deep commitment to medicine, Rula enjoys travelling, cooking and learning foreign languages.
