Dr de Wet is a Clinical Haematologist based in Perth. She completed her training in South Africa, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2005. She undertook physician training in Townsville, Queensland followed by Haematology subspecialty training in Perth.

In 2016, Dr de Wet worked as a fellow in palliative care and haematology. She undertook research in quality of life assessment in myeloma and completed a Diploma in Palliative Medicine. She has a special interest in geriatric haematology, haemostasis and thrombosis and chronic malignant conditions including myeloproliferative disorders, myeloma, lymphoma and myelodysplasia with a focus on quality of life and supportive care.
