It’s a rare privilege to be able to go to work every day to make people smile. The creation of these smiles and the relationships I have with my patients are what drives me to do what I do on a daily basis.
At Northside Orthodontics, I am very fortunate to have the support of my orthodontic partner, Steve, who I even studied with! While we treat out patients individually, we work together to assess patients and deliver our final results. None of this would be possible, however, without our fantastic workmates who are the collective engine of Northside Orthodontics.
After graduating from the University of Sydney in 1989 with a degree in dentistry, I moved to Armidale then Byron Bay, where I gained invaluable experience treating the whole range of dental conditions in all ages and stages of life. I also took the opportunity to travel and have some great life experiences.
Ten years after graduating as a dentist, I was offered a position to study as a specialist in Orthodontics. I returned to full time study and was awarded a Masters of Dental Science (Orthodontics) from the University of Sydney in 2001. My thesis on sleep apnoea devices was subsequently published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics. Since then, I’ve enjoyed all aspects of orthodontic practice, from treating primary school kids to people way older than me!
Outside of my work in orthodontics, I enjoy life with my beautiful wife, Simone, and our six children. I love being in the ocean (preferably on a board) or, alternatively, watching it.
