Dr Roberts graduated from the University of Queensland in 1969 and was resident at Royal Brisbane Hospital in 1970 and 1971, and a medical registrar in Melbourne in 1973 and 1974, training in gastroenterology subsequently at Royal Brisbane Hospital in 1975 and 1976. He then trained at Vanderbilt Medical School in Nashville, Tennessee and was subsequently a faculty member at the University of Queensland and then the University of Texas in San Antonio before entering private practice in 1985.
Dr Roberts has maintained a long contact with Royal Brisbane Hospital. Dr Roberts performs consultative services at Ballow Chambers, Wickham Terrace and Ramsay Place, Everton Park. He performs procedures at Wesley Hospital, Brisbane Endoscopy Services, Sunnybank, North West Hospital and Chermside Day Hospital.
