Dr D’Hotman is skilled in a wide range of family health services and the surgical field.
Dr D’Hotman qualified as a medical practitioner in Rhodesia in 1979 and then obtained UK recognition in the same year. He then spent two years in the air force service during which time he specialised in Aviation medicine. Robert then practiced for 18 years in South Africa expanding his practical capabilities as a General Procedural Practitioner. During this time he worked in a Private Practice, Emergency Medicine, then at a Mission hospital as a teacher in the surgical department.
Although Dr D’Hotman is well skilled in a wide range of family health services, his main interests lie in surgical fields. Dr D’Hotman performs minor surgery and procedural work such as skin grafts and flaps, ganglions, and carpal tunnel. He offers vasectomies, prostate biopsies, circumcisions and all the definitive skin cancer surgeries.
He recently completed the Advanced course in Cosmetic Injecting to compliment his surgical skills, and is skilled in cosmetic injecting (Botox, Fillers , PRP) and plastic surgery repair (e.g. stretched ear lobes, unsightly moles).
He also has an interest in chronic pain and offers pain management for chronic spinal conditions and the like.
Dr D’Hotman is the Practice Principal at Woree Family Medical Centre now Smart Clinics Woree which continues to be a teaching centre for GP Registrars & JCU Year 5 Med Students.
He loves adventure and his idea of a relaxing holiday is to either scuba dive or taketo the mountain snow and ski all day!
