Dr Baker is an accredited General Practitioner and has worked in the hospital and General Practice settings in rural and urban regional locations for several decades. He has been involved with Medical services to regional hospitals as well as educating students and trainees. He has published one book for his own personal use, has lots of ideas but not much time to deal with them!
He completed his primary medical degree in 1979 at Adelaide University and has undergone training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology obtaining a diploma in 1984. He has also completed a post-graduate Diploma in Health Informatics in 2005. He is currently a Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and a member of the Australian Medical Association.
After graduation, Reg trained in hospital work until moving to Whyalla in South Australia in 1984. In this regional centre, he ran a successful general medical practice as well as being involved in with the local Hospital, both as an accredited visiting practitioner and as a committee member.
He moved to NSW in 2001 whereupon he continued to serve in General practice and has been involved in the current after hours frame-work of the Hunter region.
Reg takes part in continual professional development programs, enjoys photography and is happily married with a grown up family.
