Richard is one of the Principals of Malvern Medical Centre and consults full time at the Centre. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree (MBBS) from the University of Adelaide in 1993 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 1997. He is an RACGP Board Member (SA&NT Faculty), an accredited GP Trainer with Sturt Fleurieu Education and Training and an Examiner for the RACGP. He is one of three GP representatives on the Clinical Council of the Adelaide Central phn and a member of the RACGP Expert Committee on GP Advocacy and Funding. He has a particular interest in chronic disease management including diabetes, asthma and cardiovascular disease. He has a special interest in the early diagnosis of skin cancer using a skin surface microscope (dermatoscope) to improve diagnostic accuracy. He holds a Diploma of Dermoscopy from the Skin Cancer College of Australasia (SCCA), a Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine from the University of Queensland and is a member of the International Dermoscopy Society.
