Dr Richard Boyle graduated with honours in medicine from UNSW and completed his orthopaedic training in Sydney. He undertook further sub-specialist training in Sydney at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and internationally in Toronto, Basel and Vienna.
He has a particular interest in hip and knee replacement, complex revision surgery and bone and soft tissue tumour surgery. His is especially interested in biological reconstruction and advanced joint replacement techniques, computer navigation, robotics and patient-specific surgery including 3D printing.
Dr Boyle is a fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and former chair of the Northside Orthopaedic Training Scheme. He is a member of the International Society of Limb Salvage and the Australian Sarcoma Group. He is involved in a number of clinical trials for tumour treatment as well as in orthopaedic surgery and arthroplasty. He is a clinical lecturer at the Australian School of Advanced Medicine, Macquarie University and medical director of the NSW Bone Bank. Dr Boyle is also on a number of design teams developing future orthopaedic and tumour implants.
