Dr Renita Blakey is a UK trained GP who moved to Perth in August 2018 with her family.
She was born in Malaysia and did her medical degree in Sheffield, UK .She graduated with her MBChB in 1999. Renita worked in different medical specialities in Chesterfield and Birmingham hospitals before embarking on her GP training in Nottingham UK, and qualified as a GP in 2004.
She has worked in Nottingham and more recently was a partner in a busy practice in the Wirral, Cheshire. Her focus in general practice for the last 5 years has been in dementia care and management. She worked closely with residential and nursing homes, specialising in advanced dementia care. She has an interest in health care of the elderly and chronic disease management. Medical student training is another interest of hers.
When not at work at Highland Medical Centre, she is a busy mum who enjoys travelling, baking and watching movies.
Now that she lives in Perth, she has aspirations of learning to surf but holds no convictions that this will ever happen!
