Renae graduated from Sydney University with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and a Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSc). She also holds a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Pracitioners. After completing her qualifications, Renae undertook General Practice training with North Coast GP training. Since then Renae has worked in both hospitals and general practices around Australia in both rural and urban locations. Internationally, Renae has worked with International SOS in Myanmar. In her spare time Renae enjoys yoga and working in her vegetable garden.
