Dr Rachel Wong is a consultant oncologist, Deputy Director of Medical Oncology at Eastern Health, a Royal Australasian College of Physicians Specialist Advisory Committee - Medical Oncology Member, Chair of the Victorian Medical Oncology Training Programme, an adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University and an honorary Clinical Research Fellow at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research. After finishing medical oncology training in Melbourne, she completed a research fellowship in gastrointestinal cancers and lymphoma at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in London. Dr Wong has extensive experience in the management of upper and lower GI malignancies, lung cancer and the management and development of clinical trials. She has published several peer-reviewed papers, abstracts and chapters in her areas of expertise and, alongside her teaching and training commitments, remains an active clinical researcher, as a principal or sub-investigator for a number of GI and lung cancer clinical trials and continues to foster an ongoing collaboration with the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research.
