Dr Stanley-Davies studied medicine and qualified as a doctor in the UK. He has lived in Australia since 1988 (more than half his life) and has been a citizen since 1991. After a year in Victoria he relocated to Townsville North Queensland where he worked as a GP for 10 years, before undertaking further training in skin cancer medicine and surgery. Dr moved his tribe (including 4 children) to Orange in 2006 to be closer to his in-laws (Forbes and Cowra).

He sees himself as a very fortunate person because skin cancer is not just his job, but his passion and undertakes at least two update courses every year to keep up with the latest information and technologies in his field. Dr Stanley-Davies says he is fortunate to work at Central West Skin Cancer Clinic, with doctors and staff that all live locally, are skilled and qualified in their work and are dedicated to continual quality improvement so that the practice can provide the best quality service for our patients and the community. When he is not working at the surgery, he is a teenager’s taxicab and he is also addicted to the keeping and breeding of tropical ornamental fish.
