Dr Myers is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in Sports Medicine. He is a Senior Consultant surgeon at the Mater Public Hospital and is in Private Practice at the Brisbane Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Queensland.
After graduating in Medicine from the University of Queensland, Dr Myers completed his Orthopaedic Training in Queensland before undertaking 2 years of training overseas working in Sports Orthopaedic Centres in Atlanta (USA), Toronto (Canada), and Edinburgh (Scotland).
Dr Myers attends a number of Brisbane's Sporting Clubs as Team Doctor. He is on State, National and International Committees for various Sporting Associations. He is the Past President of the Australian Knee Society and Patron of Sports Medicine Australia (Qld Branch).
He has published and presented numerous papers on Sports Medicine and other topics both locally and internationally. In 1992 he was awarded Honorary Membership and a Travelling Fellowship by the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine. In 2000 he was awarded the Australian Sports Medal for services to sport.
