Dr McGimpsey graduated from the Queen's University, Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1999.
Dr McGimpsey obtained a Diploma in Geriatric Medicine in Glasgow in 2002, a Diploma in Mental Health from Queen's University Belfast in 2004 & Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2005.
