Associate Professor Pete Lewindon has over 20 years experience in Paediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He completed Paediatric training in UK, Hong Kong, Australia and has been working at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital (LCCH) formerly the RCH in Brisbane since 1997. He has been heavily involved in the running of the Queensland Children’s Liver Transplant service and in the development of the children’s Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) service. Pete is involved in the latest research in treatment of IBD in children and highly respected in the fields of management of Crohn’s disease in children. He is frequently asked to speak nationally and internationally on IBD in children and represent the Australian paediatric IBD community on International IBD networks and studies. Together, with Dr Seltenreich and Stephanie Buckton, Peter and Dr Balouch hope to bring that service closer to the children and young adults of the Sunshine Coast. Together with Dr Balouch he intends to provide a consultation and endoscopic service for IBD, liver disease and complex gastroenterological problems to local paediatricians and general practitioners.
