Dr Peter Lee grew up and attended school in Victoria. He studied Medicine at Monash University and received Surgical training during his hospital years. In 1997, Dr Lee decided his career should be more broad, and decided to work in General Practice. He worked for 18 months in Cockatoo and Emerald, country towns in South East Victoria. In 1998 he answered a call to work as a GP in Hong Kong.

During his time in Hong Kong, Dr. Lee broadened his medical experience in general practice. He completed a Diploma of Family Medicine from Chinese University Hong Kong in 2004, a Diploma in Child Health (Sydney) in 2010, and later obtained Specialist status for Family Medicine by completing the Conjoint Exam from the RACGP.

Dr. Lee worked in Hong Kong University Health Service for 4 years, from 2010 to 2014. During this tenure, he gained further experience with adolescent health and chronic medical conditions. He was also involved with organising and implementing a Public Access Defibrillator Program on the Hong Kong University campus.

In 2014, Dr. Lee went back into the Public Hospital system in Hong Kong to work in government Outpatient clinics for Family Medicine, to help the poor and underprivileged to maintain chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, stroke, and hyperlipidemia. He was also given opportunity to regain experience in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, as well as doing 4 months of Accident and Emergency work.

He gained Membership of the Royal Australian College of General Practice in 2009 and attained Specialist status in General Practice in 2017. Dr. Lee is able to provide care within the full scope of General Practice, ranging from reviewing newborns through to treating elderly palliative care patients. His clinical skills & experience enable him to treat acutely unwell patients as well as care for those with more complex, chronic diseases.

Dr. Lee has special interest in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and use of Automated External Defibrillator in general practice. He was an active member on the CPR Committee of the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians since 2010. He is a certified Trainer in CPR.

He describes his personal philosophy as high quality, holistic, patient-centred healthcare. He has a strong belief in practicing Evidence-based Medicine and keeping up-to-date with the latest clinical developments to provide the best possible care to all his patients. He also firmly believes in a teamwork approach to manage each patient to maximise health and minimise disease complications. Involvement of Allied health professionals are required to achieve comprehensive and holistic care for his patients.

Outside of work, Dr Lee enjoys music, carpentry and handyman jobs to widen his knowledge and skills outside of Medicine.
