Dr Peter Hales graduated from Monash University in 1983. His early training was in residency at Geelong Hospital across a broad range of medical and surgical specialties, psychiatry, anesthetics and General Practice. He worked in Tasmania from 1987 until 1989 in aesthetics and intensive care. He returned to Victoria with his young family and commenced practice at the Torquay Community Health Centre after that. He has remained in practice in Torquay since 1989. He has a broad range of medical interests including minor surgeries and procedures, joint injections, Implanon insertion and removal, sport injuries, paediatrics and geriatrics including local nursing home care. When not working, he has an interest in surf related water sports and the occasional game of golf. He is happily married with 3 adult children and his wife working as a nursing sister in Geelong.
