Dr Peter Georgius holds a double Fellowship in both Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Australian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, the Royal Australian College of Physicians, and a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. After completing his Basic Surgical Training in Melbourne in 2002, he went on to achieve his Pain Fellowship in Tasmania in 2004. In 2007 he completed his Fellowship in Rehabilitation Medicine in Melbourne.
Dr Georgius has held positions as lecturer in Neuro-anantomy and Clinical Neurology at Victoria University in Melbourne. He is an active member of the International Neuromodulation Society (INS), the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) and the Medical Advisory Committee of Nambour Selangor Private Hospital. He is regularly invited to give lectures and workshops in Neuromodulation throughout Australia.
He has been in private practice on the Sunshine Coast for four years and has extensive experience in all aspects of musculo-skeletal and neurological rehabilitation. His scope of practice includes pain management and the rehabilitation of patients with complex conditions. He has expertise in advanced pain management procedures including diagnostic blocks, radiofrequency neurotomies, dorsal column stimulators and peripheral nerve stimulators.
Dr Georgius is involved in both hospital-based and community-based rehabilitation programs and has established a joint relationship with Palliative Care Specialist, Dr Louise Welch, providing advanced pain interventions in Palliative Care.
