Dr Baratosy studied medicine at the University of Adelaide, graduating in 1979. He has been in General Practice for over 30 years

After doing his intern year, his first job was a Medical Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force with a Rank of Flight Lieutenant. Dr Baratosy’s longest posting was No 4 RAAF Hospital in Butterworth, Malaysia. For his service he was awarded the Australian Service Medal and the Australian Defence Medal.

Dr Baratosy started to study alternatives to orthodox medicine: acupuncture, herbs, nutrition, hypnotherapy and prolotherapy. Dr Baratosy has a great interest in Thyroid conditions, Metabolic Syndrome and Natural Hormone replacement for men and women. Dr Baratosy has written 8 books on a more natural approach to health and disease.

Dr Baratosy studied with the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM) and received his Fellowship in 2004. Dr Baratosy is now on Faculty of the College as a Lecturer as well as an examiner. He has lectured overseas in New Zealand, Singapore, China and Hungary.

He has spent the last 30 plus years in practice in Adelaide and has only recently moved to Tasmania.
