Dr Allan graduated from the University of Sydney in 1996 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1999. His postgraduate education and experience was at Westmead and Wollongong Hospitals.
He is a member of the Australian Medical Association. He is a Clinical Senior Lecturer with the University of Wollongong and GP Registrar Supervisor with Coast City Country General Practice Training. He is involved in teaching medical students from the University of Wollongong.
He has a broad range of interest in all areas of family medicine. He has a special interest in dermatology and has successfully completed a Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia
