Dr Penny Brabin (Psychologist)

- Name
- Dr Penny Brabin
- Occupation
- Psychologist
- Gender
Penny has worked for many years as a Psychologist in private practice and was part of a group which promoted Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in Australia. She has since integrated mindful awareness into an holistic approach which is consistent with current knowledge of neurobiology and an understanding of what it is to be human. Contrary to a biological/mental health view of Psychology, in her business iMind, she differentiates her practice with clients through an understanding of the role of the Self identity in emotional and behavioural problems, guiding clients to direct their awareness towards the OK Self view of emotional and behavioural health – I managing my mind.
Penny works with adults and adolescents experiencing the range of human emotional and behavioural problems, supported by work with parents and partners. She also has expertise with parents after the loss of a baby or child, particularly in supporting healthy emotional management of a subsequent pregnancy.
