Dr Paul Millican graduated from the University of Queensland in 1972, completed his General Surgery specialisation in 1980, obtained his Plastic Surgery qualification in 1983 and gained further experience overseas in Oxford UK and Toronto Canada thereafter. Dr Millican has been in private practice from 1984 to 2013. In 1984 he was appointed as Visiting Consultant in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery to the Princess Alexandra Hospital until leaving in 1994 for solo private practice. He has a long interest and involvement in skin cancer and melanoma diagnosis and treatment. Apart from clinical practice in Australia Dr Millican regularly visits, operates and teaches at the HEAL Africa Hospital in the war-torn eastern region of D.R. Congo. He has been involved in the establishment of AusHEAL an Australian charity taking specialist medical teams and logistics to establish long term sustainability and effective high-level community outreach.
Dr Millican now works part-time for Specialist Connect performing local anaesthetic procedures associated with skin cancer.
