Dr Paul Griffin is the Director of Infectious Diseases at Mater Health Services in Brisbane and Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland School of Medicine and Affiliate Senior Lecturer Mater Medical Research Institute. He has fellowships in Infectious Diseases from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, in Clinical Microbiology from the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and from the Australasian College of Tropical Medicine. Concurrently he maintains a joint appointment as a scientist at QIMR Berghofer/Mater Medical Research Institute with a primary research interest in tropical medicine particularly malaria human challenge studies. Dr Griffin has an active interest in clinical trials in new therapies and vaccines for infectious diseases and has been the Principal Investigator on over 100 clinical trials both at the Mater and Q-Pharm, a specialised contract research organisation where he is the Medical Director.
