Dr Paul Fishburn established the Skin Cancer Centre in 2009.

He completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy with First Class Honours prior to completing his medical degree from the University of Sydney; a Diploma in Practical Dermatology from the University of Wales; and a Master of Medicine degree in Skin Cancer from the University of Queensland.

After five years in General Medicine he attained Fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Since 2002 he has worked exclusively in the field of skin cancer medicine and surgery. From 2005 until 2010 he was the Censor of the Skin Cancer College of Australia and New Zealand where he devised the assessment program for fellowship of the college.

He was an inaugural Fellow of the college by examination and received the college medal in the final exam. In 2009 he was appointed Senior Lecturer in the Skin Cancer Unit of the School of Medicine at the University of Queensland where he is the course co-ordinator of Advanced Clinical Cases in skin cancer diagnosis and management. He is curently enrolled as a PhD student at the University of Queensland undertaking research in the field of dermoscopy.
