Dr Patti Bastick completed her training as a Medical Oncologist in 2008. Although she trained in general oncology and can treat any solid tumour type, her practice focuses on the treatment of breast and genitourinary cancers, including testis, prostate, bladder and kidney cancers. Patti graduated with Honours from the University of Tasmania in 1999, and moved to Sydney in 2002. She completed her physician training in the St George and Prince of Wales hospitals. Following completion of basic physician training at St George Hospital, Patti spent 12 months as the breast cancer fellow, and has 3 years of experience working with the Hereditary Cancer Service performing Genetic Risk assessment of women and their families at high risk of breast and ovarian cancer. She has been heavily involved in training and education of junior doctors. She was a member of the Specialist Advisory Committee in Medical Oncology for the Royal Australian College of Physicians for 4 years, and she was the director of Prevocational Education and training for 3 years from 2011 to 2014. In addition to her work at St George Oncology associates, Patti provides inpatient care at St George Private Hospital, Hurstville Private Hospital and Kareena Hospital, and also works at Southside Cancer Care Centre in Miranda, and in the public sector through St George and Sutherland Hospitals.
