Dr Owen graduated from UNSW Medicine in 2004 with Honours, and subsequently worked as a doctor in various medical teams in Westmead Hospital, Blacktown Hospital, Auburn Hospital and Mt Druitt Hospital. He continued with work in the Paediatric departments at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Auburn Hospital and Campbelltown Hospital, while completing a Diploma in Child Health awarded through the University of Sydney. He subsequently completed his General Practice training through a number of medical practices in Sydney, the Blue Mountains and Port Macquarie, and was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2009. He served as a GP in South Wentworthville and Ryde in recent years, working in medical practices and nursing homes, and brings with him over 11 years’ experience as a doctor. He very much enjoys all the different facets of general practice medicine, and has a special interest in child health, chronic disease management and preventative health. He is diligent in maintaining a caring, attentive and thorough approach to medical care. Born and raised in Sydney, he has grown up living in the Ryde area all his life. Just as the local community has contributed so much to shape him into who he is today, he is now committed to give back and serve the local community and surrounds for many years ahead. He takes great joy in spending time with his wife (which is lucky since they work together now too!), his family of three fun-loving children, and his great friends.
