Dr Nitin Rajput (Specialist Paediatrician)

Dr Nitin Rajput is a specialist paediatrician and a fellow of the Australasian College of Physicians. He has international experience in paediatrics from India, UK, New Zealand and Australia. Dr Rajput has done worked and trained at the renowned Southampton University Hospital, Wellington Regional Hospital and Starship Hospital in Auckland. Dr Rajput has a neonatal and early childhood developmental focus and is a member of the RACP working party on early childhood development. Dr Rajput has publications in international, peer-reviewed journals and has presented at several conferences. He is a keen researcher and was the Tamworth Research Lead for the international. multicentre research, the HPOD (Hypoglycaemia Prevention with Oral Dextrose) trial. Dr Rajput supervises trainees in their research. He has done considerable research on Early Childhood Obesity in New Zealand, Constipation in Children with Behaviour Difficulties in the UK and Airway Inflammation in Asthma in India. Dr Rajput has a strong interest in early-onset feeding difficulties and has extensive experience and a publication in relation to the division of neonatal tongue-ties. Dr Rajput is trained in Griffiths and Bayley's infant and pre-school childhood assessments. He has broad experience in helping children with disabilities and complex, chronic conditions as well as learning difficulties and behavioural difficulties such as Autism and ADHD. He is also interested in the management of under- and over-nutrition, asthma, constipation and enuresis. He has a strong interest in education and has been the local educator for GP trainees doing their Advanced Skills year in paediatrics (ACCRM pathway) and all paediatric and junior doctors.
