Nirupa Sivathasan is a British doctor who qualified at St. Bartholomew’s & The Royal London University of London, UK in 2010. After completing two years of working as a hospital clinician, she furthered her training for another three years to become a general practitioner in 2015. During this time, she successfully attained the M.R.C.G.P. with the Royal College of General Practitioners, UK. As a fully qualified GP, she worked in London and in the nearby countryside, and was exposed to a variety of conditions. Dr. Sivathasan moved to Queensland last year and has been working in both acute medicine including cardiology and with the “hospital in the home” team. The experience was thoroughly enjoyable and invaluable to learn about the Australian healthcare system. As a clinician, Dr. Sivathasan takes a holistic approach to all her consultations. She enjoys building a good working-relationship with her patients through continuity of care, which ensures better outcomes.
