Nicole treats mental health issues such as mood and anxiety disorders, adjustment, grief and loss, substance misuse, self-harm behaviours and trauma. She also assists clients experiencing difficulties with work and life stress, difficulties with confidence or assertiveness, parenting, sleep difficulties, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship issues and anger management. Nicole particularly enjoys the challenge of working with adolescents and young adults. Nicole is passionate about helping young people to discover who they are and what matters to them, learn effective ways of managing stress, and identify their strengths. Nicole works collaboratively with young people and their parents to increase a shared understanding of each other, to enhance the wellbeing, connection and harmony of all family members. Nicole understands that reaching out for help can be hard. She is warm and compassionate in her approach and ensures her clients feel understood and respected. She believes that the establishment of a secure and trusting relationship is important in assisting clients to create meaning and purpose in their lives and achieve their goals. In session, Nicole helps clients make sense of their difficulties through the use of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. Nicole works with her clients to help them achieve long-lasting change to assist them to develop a meaningful, connected and happy life.
