Dr Nicole Williams (GP)

Dr Nicole Williams completed a Masters degree in International Relations from the University of St Andrew in Scotland in 2002 before later moving to Sydney where she completed her medical degree at the University of NSW in 2010.

Dr Williams completed an internship and residency at the Westmead Hospital in Sydney following which she commenced GP training in Cairns, Queensland. She was a Senior Medical Officer on Thursday Island in the Torres Strait for 2.5 years, then spent a year in Grafton, NSW before relocating permanently to Adelaide to be closer to family.

Dr Williams has an array of accolades which include being the Medical Editor for the ‘Going Places Prevocational Doctor’s Guide to General Practice’ and being awarded the ‘Above and Beyond Award’ to acknowledge her outstanding commitment to general practice at the Annual Breathing Life into General Practice Conference (2013). A career highlight has been establishing a Rheumatic Heart Disease clinic on Thursday Island about which she presented a paper at the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners conference in 2017.

Dr Williams has a wide range of medical expertise, but has developed a particular interest in General Medicine, Adolescence, Aged Care and Indigenous Health.
