Nicola grew up in Cape Town, South Africa, where she graduated from medical school in 1994. After 18 months hospital training there, she made the move to Australia in 1996, passed the Australian Medical Council exams for overseas-trained doctors and continued her hospital training at Sydney’s Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and Brisbane’s Logan Hospital.

Nicola spent 6 months doing research into alternative therapies for menopause with Dr John Eden (of Sydney’s Royal Hospital for Women) and also spent some time working for a US based company running clinical trials for new cancer treatments, specifically for melanoma.

Her post-graduate qualifications include the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of GPs, for whom she is now an examiner. She also teaches international medical graduates courses in improving communication skills.

Nicola joined General Practice Cremorne in 2010, prior to which she spent some years working in general practice in other parts of Sydney and SE Queensland. She is interested in all areas of general practice and has 2 children.
