Dr Negin Sedaghat is a FRACS qualified Australian Specialist General Surgeon with advanced subspecialisation in Breast Surgery & Surgical Oncology as well as Endocrine Surgery. Dr Sedaghat is BreastSurgANZ certified in Breast Surgery and awarded Professional Certification with distinction in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery (USYD). She is a member of international professional associations for breast cancer and endocrine disease. Her notable contributions, particularly to innovation in breast surgery, are reported in numerous regional & international surgical journals with more than 120 citations.
In total, Dr Sedaghat has over ten years of professional training and experience involving over 5500 operative procedures in breast surgery, endocrine and general surgery. This includes dedicated Post-Fellowship subspecialisation at distinguished centres across Australia under the tutelage of renown mentors. During this time, she was also an international Visiting Fellow in Breast Surgical Oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, USA.
Dr Sedaghat specialises in the broad-spectrum of breast cancer & breast health. She tailors personalised treatment plans and performs a wide-range of advanced oncoplastic & reconstructive breast surgery, breast cancer risk-reduction and symmetrisation breast surgery. In endocrine and general surgery, Dr Sedaghat specialises in thyroid nodule/cancer surgery, parathyroid surgery, skin lesions & lumps, and hernia repair.
Dr Sedaghat is the Lead for Patient Safety & Quality with the MD Program at Macquarie University, Clinical Examiner with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and invited to assist the editorial boards of international surgical research journals on numerous occasions. She also enjoys being involved in community-building endeavours. Most notably, she is the co-Founder of the Fiji Village Project.
Dr Sedaghat’s contemporary & compassionate approach occurs within a patient-centred care practice, together with comprehensive Multidisciplinary Teams at MQ Health in Sydney.
