Mr Mohammad Rafique, MBBS, FRACC, PhD, is a general surgeon and a GESA accredited endoscopist. He achieved his fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2009 and completed his training in New Zealand. Mr Rafique worked as a consultant surgeon in New Zealand from 2010 to 2015 and moved to Melbourne in mid-2015. He has a special research interest and achieved a PhD in general surgery from Japan.

He has a special interest in laparoscopic bowel resections and hernias as well as diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies.

He is a casual a lecturer for medical students at the University of Melbourne and has public appointments at Western Health and Werribee Mercy Hospital. He has admitting privileges at John Fawkner Private Hospital for privately insured patients.

He speaks English and Bengali and has an understanding of Hindi and Japanese.
